A Pet Peeve on the Quantum Scale

Call me Anal, but it irks me whenever the term ‘Quantum Leap’ is used to describe a huge change. Does anybody understand the definition of 'Quantum'?

According to Google Define, a ‘Quantum’ is 'The smallest discrete amount of any quantity'. Logically, a Quantum Leap is therefore a change/rise/increase on the absolute SMALLEST discernable magnitude.

In fact, the word ‘Quantum’ is often used in the realm of science to describe the relations of atoms and subatomic particles. It’s THAT minute.

I blame the TV show by the same name for this travesty of logic.
